Well, if you’ve read a bit about me, you know that I intend to make people happy.
I explain that with the “magic formula”. Well, I’m not the only one thinking like that. And that’s re-assuring.
Well, David Heinemeier Hansson who just happen to be the creator of the immensely popular Ruby on Rails programming framework, and partner with the ever clever and cult 37signals, thinks that making people happy is the reason “why we’re all here and why we’re all working in software or working anywhere, for that matter”.
I couldn’t agree more. What’s the point anyway to develop websites, phones apps, etc to create more frustration.
But all that “happiness” as to come from within. I’m enthusiastic about what I do. Sometime a little bit too much, but hey. If I like what I do, more chance that I’ll put a bit more heart into it, and add that extra bit that makes it special.
Don’t you think?
David explains it better than me :
That has to start from within. You have to be happy with the work you’re doing, happy with the products that you’re producing in order to really truly make your customers happy. It’s very much a positive feedback cycle. When you like what you do, you’re going to create something that’s better than if you don’t like what you do.
It’s not just being happy-go lucky there’s real business value here.

Yes, he incidentally talks about a lot more stuff than just justifying my Magic Formula.
