Smurfitschool.ie

Smurfitschool.ie is aimed mainly at future students, so we developped a full team dynamic to create a user-friendly, engaging and convincing experience. It offers a clear content architecture and navigationas well as integration with online recruitment system.

I was the main web manager and responsible for the day to day maintenance and update of the website as well as planning and implemenation of the projects.

Over 4 years, the website completed 2 majors redesign were functional specification and content requirements changed in scope and timing. I have to thank the great people at IQ Content for their work, help and guidance.

This was a wholesome experience were I developped my thirst for more UX design.

ucd.ie/quinn

Quinnschool.ie is the undergraduate sister school to smurfitschool.ie. The site needed to take a similar yet different approach to its target audience. Emphasise has been put on a more vibrant, youthful visual design. The website has been redesigned alongside smurfitschool.ie and integrated interactive maps, video, student testimonials etc. The challenge was to develop a strong brand identity while keeping the university branding.
I created also newsletters and graphics to support the marketing initiatives. I worked as part of a cross-functional team and responsible for design, development and support.

In 3 years, the website undertook two successive redesigns to make it appealing ang engaging.

The website had a wealth of content crippled by outdated content structure and navigation. Each redesign adopted the main university templates and I focused on getting the information architecture right. Bringing the content to the users. This project emphasized on clarity of information, navigation and it also needed to change the perception of the school.

For the 2nd redesign in 2009, I was part of a project team responsible for development, implementation. I pushed towards uses of UX method to organise content (Personas, Card sorting, wireframes and prototypes).
